Hi my name is Nicholas Mattia, a senior at Roger Williams and I’m ecstatic to
share my time in the world of Construction Management as I start to enter into the
workforce.
As a soon to come graduate in 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Construction
Management, along with minors in Sustainability and Business, my time at Roger
Williams University has been informational and life changing. Today, I want to
take you through some highlights of my academic journey and the exciting projects
that have shaped my passion for Construction Management.
A defining moment in my academic career was my participation in a Design Bid
Build competition. This experience not only challenged me to apply theoretical
knowledge in a real-world scenario but also allowed me to hone my
problem-solving and teamwork skills.
In addition to my coursework, I felt the calling to make an impact within the
university community. This led to the creation of an organization on campus aimed
at providing tutoring and support for students enrolled in Construction classes.
My recent endeavors involved participation in a research program Collaborating
with a group. We are on a mission to introduce construction work and virtual
reality (VR) into high school classrooms. We seek to educate students about the
fascinating world of Construction Management while showcasing how VR plays in
the industry.
